Christmas miniature villages are one of the most popular decorations for this time of the year. They reflect the different activities and traditions that many people have during this occasion and as such, they make great additions to any holiday home décor. Scenes such as people shopping, ice skating, caroling and families simply spending some time together often make up the different aspects of a Christmas village.

Some of the houses and shops within it also come with lights that add a cozy glow to it. In fact, some people make a hobby out of arranging and building their villages. There are those that have become so big that they actually look more like window displays instead of the simple table top décor that we usually see. So, to help you make the most of this magical Christmas décor, here are a few tips when it comes to finding the perfect place to put them in.


Typically, people would have their villages out in the living room where guests would be able to see them easily. Usually, they have a tabletop set up for it, somewhere near the tree or in the middle of their living rooms. This kind of setup is great for a normal sized village but what if you have something bigger?

For bigger villages, a more dramatic set up is required. To share the Christmas spirit with those visiting your home as well as a passersby, how about a window display? This would put that space to good use and give people a great view to look at whenever they pass by your home.

As for setting your display up, there are also a couple of things to consider. Let's start with avoiding clutter. Some Christmas miniature villages tend to get cluttered by the sheer amount of the things in it. You don't have to display every village piece that you own. You can rotate them every year.

Unless you need to fill up a big space, remember to keep things simple and neat. This would allow people to admire all the pieces and not be overwhelmed by everything that you have. Keep things tasteful and make sure that the snow doesn't cover everything. When it comes to snow, a sprinkling here and there would do.
